Phelp's Caught Smoking Weed, BIG FUCKIN DEAL!

The American icon Michael Phelps was caught smoking from a bong. The only reason that people are going crazy about that is because he is supposed to be looked upon by the American public as a piller of what is great.

In all reality Phelps is representing why America is great. We have to freedom to do things like smoke weed. I know that it is illegal, but the laws on this drug are so lax no a days that soon it will be legal.

Michael Phelps smoking weed is as much news as my or anyone else smoking weed. Hell, Mall (the other blogger on this blog) told me that our last president did cocaine, and even more illegal and harder drug. If the president can do coke and still be president, a 8 time gold medalist should have the ability to smoke a little weed.

Racism is Both Love and Hate...Let Me Explain

I was thinking about people who are racist and what involves racism. I have come to a realization that racism involves two emotions, love and hate. For one to be racist a person has to both love a certain race of people and in that love you then begin to hate another “race(s)”. I myself am white and I do not love the white “race” so in turn I do not hate any other race because I do not single out another to love.

To take this even further the idea of a “race” of people being superior over another is not only narrow minded but scientifically false. Science has proven that a person’s race does not determine whether they are more superior to another. So if a person just looks around and knows that we are all 99% genetics the same the word “race” should have no meaning.

Now a quick blurb on why we think we are different. In my opinion a person with different skin color or who looks different is not different because of their “race” but it’s their culture. A person’s culture is what defines a person and make then different from everyone else. It just happens that a different persons culture usually is involved with people of different looks. Again, a person just needs to see that people of the same “race” have different culture that separates them. Russian culture is totally different then English culture yet they are both white. Even within the United States culture the southern part of the US has a different culture then the northern yet they can be even a mix of “races”.

These are just my opinions and views on race. I myself am not racist because like I stated I do not love my “race” so I cannot hate another. In this day and age the term race, racist and racism should be removed from our society. A new correct term should maybe be culturalist or culturalism. I am not even use of these words exist yet but the word race should only refer to a contest of speed or a need of urgency, not a group of people.

This can't be life....

So over the weekend I got suckered into going out to a local bar. Lately I’ve been trying to stay out that scene and focus on more important things. But for reasons beyond my control, I always end up going out. Before I really run with this story, I want to let you in on back info. Every weekend I get a call from one of my friends asking me to hit up some spot. My answer is always the same…NO!

Below is how the conversation usually goes.

Me: “Roundtable pizza how may I help you”
Friend: “Mall what the fuck are you doing”
Me: “Watching life pass me bye”
Friend: “Cool get dressed we’re all going out”
Me: “I don’t feel like going out”
Friend: “Have ever won this argument before??....stop acting like a bitch”
Me: “ I don’t have anything to wear”
Friend: “Nice try get dressed”
Me: “FUCK!!…..Be over in an hour”

Side note: (No I don’t work for Roundtable…yes it takes me an hour to get dressed)

So we hit up this bar for some chicks birthday. My boy is feeling the spot but as the girls start showing up things get awkward. For some reason that song “This can’t be life” jumps into my head. I guess it's time to push the envelope again….

I’m so easily sidetracked

How this came to be!

So for the last few weeks I’ve been playing with the idea of starting a blog. AFT really came to life after talking with my home girl Dre. According to Dre I’m a bad friend and don’t keep up with people like I should. So after running the idea by my white partner in crime (Mike) we came up with this idea!
So I decided to use ATF as a conduit to voice my opinion to the world..... While also letting Mike talk about Movies, Video games, Comics...so on and so forth. Now I know we could have used MySpace or some other corny site…lol… But truth be told we wanted this to be different. So sit back and relax I promise to make this interesting…don't know what Mike plans to do!

Punisher War Zone - Fuck the Critics, Go See It!

One of the most underrated action movies of 2008 was Punisher War Zone. This movie is a breath of fresh air for the action movie genre. This being the third Punisher movie it leaves the other two in the dust. The first Punisher movie being the 1989 adaptation starting Dolph Lundgrenand, the second the 2004 starting Thomas Jane both leaving me feeling incomplete. This was not the Punisher I knew, not the Punisher I read in the comics. I have been reading Punisher comics since I was a kid and ever since Marvel introduced the MAX comic series The Punisher has been stronger than ever. Unfortunately these adaptations were not translated well onto the big screen, until now.
Punisher War Zone brings back to the screen the awesome blood and guts, no holds bar action from the 80’s that is loved. The movie brought back memories of how awesome Robocop, Commando, Total Recall, Rambo and other movies in that genre. Some people might argue that this type of violence is unneeded in movies today. I would have to agree except, it’s a dam Punisher movie. This is the way he has been written in the comics since I remember and even more so now with the MAX series. He gives no quarter to his enemies, ever, and this movie portrayed that on the big screen perfectly.
Punisher War Zone does it perfectly by not going through an origin story in the beginning. It has a few flash backs when he explains why he does what he does. This keeps it so there is very little time in between action scenes and will keep the person engaged. Also Ray Stevenson (Rome) is the most convincing Punisher yet. He is tall, brutish and is exactly what you would expect Frank Castle to look like if he was a real person. The villain in the movie Jigsaw played by Dominic West also had a strong performance and was a great contrast to the Punisher. He was a perfect balance in a villain to contrast the punisher. Jigsaw is a villianish gangster who will stop at nothing for revenge on the Punisher, killing for the same reason, but with a different purpose. The only thing that dragged the movie down was the addition of Jigsaw’s brother, Loony Bin Jim played by Doug Hutchison. His character did not fit the movie, he was very chaotic and weird, that made you feel more uneasy then feeling he is a crazy psychopath. If his character was rewritten or taken out, I do not think the movie would have lost anything.
This movie is a must see for all fans of the Punisher or even all fans of great violent action movies. Sometimes people need a little senseless entertainment in the movies, hell isn’t that what going to the movies is all about. I know the movie did not make tons of money, but that doesn’t matter. The Punisher might not be a blockbuster movie but I think it will become a cult classic for. When I buy it on DvD I will be showing it to my friends and they will regret not seeing it in theatres.
